Description

An independent game studio located in San Francisco, CA working on the 3D adventure platformer, "Poi."

History

Ben Gable and Paul Ewers left their jobs in early 2014 to pursue their dream of starting an independent game studio. They were driven by the desire to make games inspired by titles that they loved as kids, but adding a dash of innovation and using today's tools and technology. Paul and Ben both graduated from DigiPen Institute of Technology, and have worked on PC games such as Igneous (2010 IGF Student Showcase Winner), Kabloom, the mobile game Star Thief, and independent Wii games. While previously employed at Zynga, they worked as gameplay engineers on CityVille and Farmville. They are currently hard at work on their first independent title, Poi.

What is Poi?

Poi is an indie 3D adventure platformer inspired by classics like Super Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie, and Super Mario Sunshine. It follows the journey of a rambunctious kid on an adventure to become a master explorer. Players will run, jump, flip, and collect treasure across many exciting locales to gain explorer medallions. From larger exploration based levels to small intense platforming challenges--we think Poi has a little bit of everything that gamers love about 3D platformers.

Poi is being developed for PC is available now to play on Steam Early Access.
